Just got back from Florida the other day. Had a great time. Spent most of my time on the beach getting some sun. My stomach and chest got a little too much though. One of the days we rented a couple wave runners. I decided it would be fun to make a sharp turn at full speed. Long story short, we ended up being ejected off the wave runner. In the process I managed to get the wind knocked out of me and chip one of my teeth at the moment of impact with the water.
One of the nights we checked out Ybor city, near downtown Tampa. Its pretty much just a trip with clubs and bars on it. That was a great time. We hit three places. The first was Coyote Ugly…just like the movie. Then the Green Iguana, had a great cover band. Last was Centuro’s Amphitheater, club with a 30ft revolving dance floor. Great fun!

In other news, a change of plans in my life. Originally I was slated to being work at SRA International in Dayton June 1st. Well, late last week the chair of the University of Hawaii’s Computer Science department contacted me and offered me a full tuition waiver and a Teaching Assistantship position. In short I can go to school in Hawaii and get paid for it.
So, last Tuesday I quit my first real job before I ever started it. That was fun, but they were very supportive of my decision. So I’ll be a bum for the next two months. Then in early August I will officially be a resident of the state of Hawaii, and live about a mile from Waikiki Beach. Let the hating begin
