I apologize for not updating the blog in a while.
First of all. I posted a few pictures and a couple videos from the Eddie Aikau - Big Wave Intivational. This is a surf competition that is only held on days where the waves are above 25 feet. This year, December 15th 2004, the contest was held at Waimea Bay (North Shore of Oahu) and the wave faces were between 30 and 50 feet. It was an incredible thing to see. Unfortunately, the pictures don’t do the waves justice. Its hard to get a real feel for how big the waves were, and the surfers were about a thousand feet or so from the beach. It was hard to get a tight shot of one of them dropping into a wave, but I am trying to get my friend Nick to send me his pictures. There are better pictures of the waves and surfers here.
In other news, I’ve started a new semester at UH. Nothing really exciting here for the non-nerds, which is everyone except me.
